Overview
This discovery emphasizes a transnational approach to the historical discipline. Rather than presuming that history begins and ends with national borders, this class encourages students to think beyond the nation-state framework. Through the classes in this discovery, students will be introduced to historical narratives that span multiple countries and center on transnational themes such as migration, colonialism, war and conflict, transnational flows of goods and ideas, globalization, regional collaboration, and foreign policy.
