Paid national firm internships, 100% job placement, and success on the CPA exam provide real-world evidence that Trinity accountants possess skills that are essential to the business world. Led by expert faculty, many of whom have industry experience, the accounting department prepares students for a successful professional career.
Trinity University offers a five-year accounting program consisting of a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting. Although state laws require students to go beyond a traditional undergraduate degree program for CPA candidacy, the Trinity accounting major does more than simply set a foundation for graduate study. Student engagement with the accounting profession begins during their junior year, with a series of firm/student events and special topics courses that acquaint students with opportunities in the profession.
The majority of accounting students serve paid internships with the Big Four and other national firms and accept their permanent employment offers prior to applying for and beginning their fifth year of study.
The M.S. in Accounting program provides Trinity graduates, as well as other qualified applicants, an opportunity to complete a rigorous graduate program in two semesters. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs include a heavy focus on critical thinking, writing, group collaboration, and use of relevant technology.
