The art and art history department offers the Baker Duncan Fine Arts Scholarship, awarded each year to incoming first-year students who intend to major in studio art. The department also offers two awards to recognize and honor the outstanding artistic achievements of exceptional senior art students.
The Baker Duncan Fine Arts Scholarship is awarded yearly to incoming studio art majors. Awards range from $2,000 to $10,000, and the award is renewable for up to eight semesters (excluding summer) on the condition that the recipient becomes and remains a major in studio art and maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 or above.
There is no application form to submit.

The Frances K. Hendricks Fine Arts Award was established by the Spurs sorority to honor the late Frances Hendricks, a professor in the history department for more than 30 years and a Spurs sponsor. The award honors a graduating senior majoring in one of the fine arts who has made an outstanding contribution to the arts community at the University. It is presented each year to encourage students in the fine arts to become a vital force in the larger life of the campus.
The award honors one student per year and consists of a plaque and $150.00. Procedures for nomination are as follows:
