The department of finance and decision sciences seeks to provide students with the knowledge required to succeed in quantitative careers in finance or business analytics and technology. The department offers courses in corporate finance, financial institutions, investments, international finance, statistics, operations research, management information systems, business analytics, and other related areas.
The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. This major allows students to gain solid textbook-type foundations and "hands-on" learning experiences in all major areas of finance. The department also offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Analytics and Technology. This major provides students with a variety of quantitative, technological, and analytical skills that are necessary to succeed in careers in operations management, analytics, and "big data."
Students who are interested in careers and/or study related to equity markets and Investments have the opportunity to apply for enrollment in the Student Managed Fund (SMF). Students in the SMF manage more that $6 million of the University’s endowment. Through the department students also have internship and other professional opportunities.
