How many people receive an award?
We will award approximately 20 full-tuition scholarships. Approximately 1 in 15 participants will be awarded a full-tuition scholarship.
How many students participate in Trinity Tower Scholars Day?
Trinity Tower Scholars Day has around 300 students competing for approximately 20 full-tuition scholarships. Generally 1 in 15 participants will be awarded a full-tuition scholarship.
How and when do I register for the Trinity Tower Scholars Day competition?
Accepted students who are invited to attend the Trinity Tower Scholars Day will receive a link to register online in their letter of acceptance and/or official invitation from The Office of Admissions. You must complete registration by Wednesday, January 15, to attend the program and compete for the full-tuition scholarship.
Do you have to register in advance, or can I show up the day of the competition?
Students must be registered for the event by Wednesday, January 15, to participate and compete for the full-tuition scholarship. On site registration will not be available. Registration information will be available in the letter of acceptance.
Do I have to stay there all day?
We require every student competing for a scholarship to be present for the entire Class and Scholarly Response. We encourage all students and family members to participate in the remainder of the program to learn more about academic, co-curricular, and social opportunities available at Trinity.
What if I am late to the Trinity Tower Scholars Day competition?
If a student misses any portion of the Class and Scholarly Response, they will not be permitted to join the evaluative session late and will not be eligible to receive one of the full-tuition scholarships.
Please make travel arrangements to San Antonio and Trinity's campus that ensure your arrival to the program on time and in advance of the Class and Scholarly Response. Students will not be permitted to join late or compete in the evaluative portion of the program due to delays caused by weather, traffic, or other circumstances. Program check-in concludes at 9:45 am.
What happens if I am awarded the full-tuition scholarship and change my major/interests?
You are not required to major in the academic discipline in which you compete during the Trinity Tower Scholars Day.
Can my parents/guardians attend?
Yes, we have a special separate program for guests of attendees. Please see the sample schedule of events here.
How do I prepare for the competition?
No preparation is needed.
What do I need to bring?
We will provide all materials needed for the scholarly response. We recommend wearing comfortable attire as you may take a campus tour at the conclusion of the program.

Will I meet current students?
Yes, you will have several opportunities throughout the day to meet and chat with current students and future classmates.
How will you select which class I will be placed in for the scholarship competition?
During event registration you will select five different classes from approximately 20 options. Please select topics that you will be comfortable engaging in as a part of the competition, the Class and Scholarly Response. Specific knowledge regarding the topic is not necessary. You will be randomly assigned to one of those five classes based on availability and your timely event registration.
When will I be notified if I have been selected for a full-tuition scholarship?
We will notify all attendees by mail no later than April 1, 2020.
What if I need special accommodations during the Class & Scholarly Response?
Students must submit appropriate medical documentation to Trinity's Student Accessibility Services (SAS), sas [at] trinity.edu, to request accommodations for the Class and Scholarly Response. All requests for accommodation must be submitted to SAS no later than Monday, January 20, 2020, and preferably when a student registers for the Scholars Day. Prompt SAS submissions ensure adequate time to review accommodation requests and prepare for those approved.
What if I need to cancel my reservation for the Trinity Tower Scholars Day?
If your schedule changes and you are no longer attending the program, students should cancel their reservation by submitting this Online TTSD Cancellation Form as soon as possible, and preferably before Monday, February 3.
