Through service initiaves, Trinity University supports and challenges students in their development as individuals and as responsible global citizens. With three main components of education, volunteerism, and reflection, service programs at Trinity inspire and motivate students to have a positive impact on the community and the world around us.
At Trinity, students can find service projects on campus and across the globe. Community service at Trinity has been recognized by being named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the past five years.
Each year, over 1,600 students commit over 60,000 hours to community service. Some students do this as part of a student organization, as an individual, through a service-learning project in their classes, or by participating in an annual event such as the United Way's Days of Caring or the Welcome Week Service Excursions. Several students participate each year with TUVAC's S.A.V.E.
Spending time on the beach lounging with friends is a fun way to spend your break time, but there's also another fun way that is very rewarding - an Alternative Break! Our Alternative Breaks take students away from campus and give them an opportunity to serve. Domestic and international trips taken each spring break help transform a region... and often transform students themselves.
