Spring 2020 Commencement has been cancelled.
Due to conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to hold Trinity’s rescheduled in-person graduation ceremony and related celebrations on August 8 as we had hoped.
We came to this difficult decision after weeks of monitoring and reviewing public health guidelines and careful consideration. Commencement is one of Trinity’s most meaningful and cherished traditions, one that our students and their families have earned. Trinity is profoundly disappointed that we cannot share this joy, but we concluded that we are not able to guarantee the health and safety of our graduates, their families, and the Trinity community.
We deeply regret not having the opportunity to share our good wishes for you in person. More than anything, we had hoped to bring us all together this August in celebration and recognition of the incredible sacrifices you were asked to make as you graduated into an uncertain world. While the virtual confederal of degrees was a moving and inspiring testament to your creativity and spirit, there is no substitute for being together.
Students who are interested in joining their peers in December for commencement are encouraged to contact the office of the Registrar. And please look for more communication from the University in the coming weeks as we imagine new ways to honor and celebrate your accomplishments.
