Seventeen teachers from the local San Antonio area have been selected as finalists for the 2020 Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Each teacher has been chosen as a distinguished educator by their school district and is being considered for the award as a recognition of their dedication and outstanding performance in public education.

The two recipients of the prize will be announced and all of the distinguished educators will be honored at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, through an invitation-only ceremony on Zoom. Rodney Robinson, the 2019 National Teacher of the Year, will give remarks at this year’s event.

Each educator chosen was nominated for their commitment and passion for education. Among the criteria for inclusion on the list is outstanding classroom performance, leadership in the school and school district, leadership in the education profession, and outstanding community service.
