She will play an integral role in managing Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Planned Giving, and Advancement Services, and she will help provide leadership for the entire division.

Pickett will assume her role at Trinity on Aug. 16. “We welcome Joannah to our great team where she will play in an important leadership role,” Bacon says. “She is a passionate higher education advocate who brings more than 20 years of experience in the field of fundraising. Her professionalism and expertise will be critical as we prepare for the bold vision President Anderson has for Trinity.”

“It is an honor to join the Trinity community and I look forward to working with University leadership, faculty, colleagues, and students to deepen the levels of philanthropy and make more available the gift of a Trinity education—bringing world-leading faculty and curious students to work collaboratively on real world issues,” Pickett says. “I can't wait to meet more members of the Trinity family!”

Pickett joins the Trinity family from Georgetown University, where she served as the assistant vice president of annual giving, leading strategy for direct response marketing activities as well as strategy and design of giving societies for leadership and loyalty giving. Pickett also brings significant experience partnering with volunteers managing projects, developing programs, designing creative marketing campaigns, and managing and forecasting budgets. Prior to her previous role, Pickett served as the senior director of board operations and alumni services, where she served as the chief of staff for the alumni association’s governing body and directed the annual strategies, long range planning, and implementation of committees.

Pickett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Sociology and Social Services from the University of Puget Sound. She also earned her certification in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. She has lived in San Antonio for three years with her husband, Chris, a military physician and their two children, Jack and Lucy.
