L. Paige Fields named Kansas’ Dean of School of Business
Fields will lend expertise on corporate governance, banking, and insurance to University of Kansas Business School

L. Paige Fields, dean of Trinity’s School of Business and the Dick and Peggy Prassel Professor of Business, has been named the Dean of the School of Business at the University of Kansas (KU) in Lawrence, Kan. Fields, who has been on the Trinity faculty since 2012, will be leaving the University effective June 30, 2017.

Fields was appointed dean of Trinity’s School of Business in 2015. Before being named dean, she was also chair of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences. An expert on corporate governance, banking, and insurance, Fields is known as an exceptional scholar and teacher. She has worked to enhance business education at Trinity University and to expand engagement with businesses in San Antonio and beyond.

“Dr. Fields has been committed to strengthening Trinity’s School of Business as part of the Trinity Tomorrow strategic plan. We wish her well at KU,” said Dee Jones, vice president for Academic Affairs.

Fields has served as an associate editor of the Journal of Financial Research. She has published articles in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and many other respected outlets.

Fields earned her B.S. and M.S. in finance from Louisiana State University, and her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. Prior to coming to Trinity, she held faculty appointments at the University of Kentucky, the University of Arizona, and Texas A&M University.

Fields’ husband, Mike Wilkins, the Jesse H. Jones Professor of Business and Chair of the Department of Accounting at Trinity, will be joining her at KU.
