Longtime Trinity University groundskeeper and equipment operator died Monday, March 12

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Marcelino Mata Robles, former longtime Trinity University groundskeeper and equipment operator. He died Monday, March 12 at age 75.

Robles began as a groundskeeper in March 1994 and moved to the position of equipment operator, retiring in April 2012, after 18 years of service with Facilities Services, formerly known as the Physical Plant.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Macrina Robles; three daughters; four sisters; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 618 Grimes St. Services will conclude at the church.
