2015-16 Trinity University Honor Roll of Donors
Mary Kay Cooper Departs Trinity After 10 Years
Carol Mansen ’83 selected as interim alumni relations director

After more than 10 years at Trinity University, Mary Kay Cooper, the senior director of Alumni Relations , departed Trinity to serve as the director of Alumni Affairs at Texas A&M - San Antonio. Cooper’s last day at Trinity was Oct. 20. Carol Mansen ’83, a former Trinity University Alumni Association Board (TUAAB) chair and chapter president, has been appointed to serve as the interim director of Alumni Relations until a national search can be completed. Mansen currently is a Trinity Alumni Ambassador and travels the United States meeting with alumni with husband Dave Mansen ’76.

Since her arrival, Cooper has worked ardently to build the University’s vast alumni network and implement a system and process to the TUAAB (formerly the National Alumni Board), and the Trinity University Alumni Association. In collaboration with her team, Cooper and the Alumni Relations office coordinate more than 180 alumni events around the U.S. each year.

Michael Bacon ’89, CFRE, vice president for Alumni Relations & Development, thanked Cooper for her service, calling her a “vital part” of developing Trinity’s alumni network.

“Mary Kay has been the backbone of our Alumni Relations team for the past 10 years,” Bacon says. “She has brought process, efficiency, and style to our efforts to engage alumni and provide them with meaningful volunteer opportunities.”

Bacon went on to say that his team “wishes her well in her next role at Texas A&M - San Antonio as she builds an alumni organization from the ground up.” Moreover, Bacon adds that he could not think of a “more qualified and loyal alumna” than Carol Mansen to serve as interim director of Alumni Relations.

“Carol has served in many roles since her graduation, including as the President of our National Alumni Board,” Bacon says. “We are in good hands with Carol.”
