He and Jim Baker, associate director of facilities services, received the award recognizing their leadership and experience in the successful completion of a number of major construction and renovation projects that summer, including the renovation of Witt-Winn Residence Hall, a large section of the Center for the Sciences and Innovation, the relocation of the admissions office to upper campus and renovations of other Northrup Hall offices, and the makeover of walkways and landscaping in the center of campus.

Randy is survived by his wife, Esperanza; children, Jessica Howes and husband Bradley, Amanda LaRue and husband Mark, Marisa Cheatum and husband Cameron, and Wesley Creech and wife Marta.
