A seasoned financial leader, Diana Heeren brings 20 years experience in higher education

Diana Heeren has been named associate vice president for Finance at Trinity University. In this role, she will provide leadership for strategic and long-range financial planning, overseeing the University's annual budget process and budget control, oversight of all financial statements and tax return preparation, and safeguarding all financial assets of the University.
"Diana is a highly motivated finance professional who has 20 years of experience in higher education budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management experience," said Gary Logan, vice president for Finance and Administration, in announcing Heeren's appointment. "She will be an engaged leader on our campus and brings a strong commitment to developing high performing teams."
Heeren leads a team of experienced professionals and support staff for the following areas: Business Office, Financial Services Center, Payroll, Budget, Business Operations, Dining Services, Bookstore, and Conferences and Special Programs.
Previously, Heeren was assistant vice president for Finance at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. Her primary responsibilities included managing the university's budget, maintaining the multi-year financial plan, and overseeing the university's insurance and risk management program. In 2014 she was charged with organizing the newly formed process group – a small team leading change, innovation, and process improvement. Heeren was also a two-time recipient of Susquehanna's "Whatever It Takes Award."
Prior to joining Susquehanna University in 2004, she was the Controller at Elizabethtown College. Heeren received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Elizabethtown College in 1996. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Technology Professional, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Heeren's professional and community work include serving on several review teams of other colleges and universities for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; and as treasurer for Snyder County Libraries (Pennsylvania) from 2013 to 2017. She continues to serve on the board of the EIIA (Educational & Institutional Insurance Administrators, Inc.) Student Trust and has been an active member of PICPA (Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants), and NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers).
