Trinity University’s music department will feature several recitals and concerts through the end of the fall semester.

SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University’s music department will host the following events in November and December. Unless otherwise noted, all events are free and open to the public.
Nov. 7 – Steinway Dedication and Inaugural Concert. Music professors Carolyn True and David Heller will perform on Trinity’s new Steinway Concert D grand piano and celebrate the University’s designation as an “All Steinway School.” At 7: 30 p.m. in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall
Nov. 8 – New York Polyphony Concert. Regarded as one of the finest vocal chamber ensembles in the world, New York Polyphony perform a wide range of musical genres, from medieval melodies to contemporary compositions. The concert is part of the Stieren Arts Enrichment Series, made possible through an endowment created by Jane and the late Arthur Stieren of San Antonio. At 7:30 p.m. in the Parker Chapel.
Nov. 9 – Fall Jazz Ensemble Concert. The Trinity University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Martin Roemisch, will perform in concert at 3 p.m. in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall.
Nov. 11 – Margarite B. Parker Chapel Organ Recital Series. Organ virtuoso Christopher Houlihan will make his San Antonio and Trinity debut as the guest performer of the Margarite B. Parker Chapel Organ Recital Series. His performance is co-sponsored by the Tuesday Musical Club. At 7:30 p.m. in the Parker Chapel.
Nov. 16 – Rosalind Phillips Vocal Competition. Named after a beloved former music professor, the Rosalind Phillips Vocal Competition honors outstanding Trinity vocal students with scholarship awards and the opportunity to perform with the Trinity Symphony Orchestra. At 3 p.m. in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall.
Dec. 2 – SOLI Chamber Ensemble Concert. The SOLI Chamber Ensemble will open their 2014-2015 concert season with program titled “Hear.” Admission is $20. The event will begin with a pre-concert talk at 7 p.m. followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. both in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall.
Dec. 5 – Annual Christmas Concert. A San Antonio tradition, the concert features Trinity’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Handbell Choir, and vocal choirs performing holiday favorites from the Christmas season. At 7:30 p.m. in Laurie Auditorium
Dec. 7- Christmas Vespers. Members of Trinity’s different choirs join together for a Christmas service filled with sacred music. At 6 p.m. in Parker Chapel.
