Trinity University Announces Distinguished Lecture Speaker
Nina Totenberg, NPR’s Supreme Court correspondent, will discuss the effect the Supreme Court has on the people of the U.S.

Trinity University’s Distinguished Lecture Series will feature the former commander of U.S. and International Forces, retired Army Gen. Stan McChrystal, who will speak on “The Changing Geopolitical Landscape.” The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m., at Trinity’s Laurie Auditorium. No reservations or tickets are required. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. If you can’t attend in person, the program will be streaming live on the Tiger Network at live.trinity.edu

A four-star general, McChrystal is the former commander of U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan and the former leader of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), which oversees the military’s most sensitive forces. His leadership of JSOC is credited with the 2003 capture of Saddam Hussein and the 2006 location and killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. McChrystal is also the author of the best-selling leadership books My Share of the Task: A Memoir and Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World. He is also the co-founder of the McChrystal Group—its mission is to deliver innovative leadership solutions to organizations which help them transform and succeed in challenging and dynamic environments.

A former Green Beret, McChrystal is known for his candor, innovative leadership, and going the distance. Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates described McChrystal as “one of America’s greatest warriors,” stating that few can speak about leadership, teamwork, and international affairs with as much insight.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is made possible by the Walter F. Brown Family of San Antonio. For more information, visit Trinity’s events calendar.
