James (Jim) N. Bradley has been appointed Trinity’s Chief Information Officer. Bradley has more than 30 years’ experience as a strategic technology leader in higher education and the corporate world. As CIO, he will lead the University’s ongoing commitment to support and promote the strategic use of information technology that advances Trinity’s mission. Specifically he will provide leadership and management for the Information Technology Services division, including academic technology, administrative computing, networking services, user support services, the help desk, and telecommunications.
Bradley was appointed by Trinity President Danny J. Anderson following a national search. “Jim’s qualifications and experience made him an ideal selection for Trinity’s first dedicated Chief Information Officer,” Anderson said. Trinity created the position of Chief Information Officer following the recommendations of a Trinity Faculty Senate Committee and an external review of the University’s administrative structure, which confirmed the centrality and benefits of this position for meeting 21st-century opportunities and challenges. “Bradley brings a passion for effective administration, customer service, and ongoing employee development that will benefit Trinity as we strive to achieve ever greater stature as a University of the first order,” Anderson said. Bradley joins the University’s leadership team on August 28, 2017.
Most recently, Bradley served as a solutions delivery leader with H-E-B, where he led an international team that delivers store technology solutions for nearly 400 stores in the United States and Mexico. Previously he was vice president for information technology and chief information officer at the University of Texas at Arlington. He has also served in IT leadership roles at Tulane University and the University of Houston.
Bradley holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law (Houston), an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of St. Thomas (Houston), and received his bachelor of arts in history from the University of Houston.
