Trinity University Names First General Counsel
In-house attorney will provide legal oversight to campus leaders and constituents

Trinity University President Danny Anderson has appointed Rachel Rolf, the current interim general counsel at the University of Kansas, as Trinity’s first in-house attorney.

Rolf will play an integral role in providing legal oversight of the University and strategic advice to Trinity’s leadership team and constituents. Reporting to Anderson, she will begin at Trinity in early August.

“She has a good legal mind, a clear focus on her responsibility as Trinity’s counsel, a commitment to educate the campus community, and a genuine spirit of collaboration,” Anderson says.

While at the University of Kansas, Rolf has gained significant experience handling a wide range of legal matters in higher education, including cases involving Title IX, employment, academic affairs, federal privacy laws, campus safety, and risk management.

Rolf holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

After graduating from law school, she was an associate attorney at the McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips firm in Roeland Park, Kansas, and has served as an instructor for the National Center for Campus Public Safety Trauma-Informed Sexual Assault Investigation and Adjudication Educational Program.
