I have been a member of the music faculty of Trinity University since 1990 and maintain a balance between teaching in San Antonio, giving workshops and masterclasses, conducting adjudication across the country, and actively performing as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Carl Leafstedt is a music historian who teaches general music history courses, a First Year Seminar on Music and Politics, and special topics courses on Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Symphonic Literature, and 20th-Century Opera. 

Kimberlyn Montford

Kimberlyn Montford, Ph.D.

Kimberlyn teaches courses in music history, opera, popular music and music in culture and identity, as well as African American studies. Her research interests include Baroque sacred music, African-American music, gender studies, popular music, and film music aesthetics.
